Event Guide - Ryder Cup

Ryder Cup

All players are divided into 2 Squads that will play against each other over multiple rounds in a Match Play Format.

1 Point is awarded for each match won, and a 1/2 point for matches drawn.

Gross or Net

The Format(s) can be played as "Gross" or "Net". When playing "Net" their is an option to adjust the players Handicap off of the lowest Player / Team Handicap in the Match (Handicap Wheel).

Round Formats

The Ryder Cup can be played with 9 Hole or 18 Hole Rounds consisting of any of the following Match Play formats for each round:

  1. Fourball / 1x Best Ball - All players of the team play their own ball, the lowest score of the Team Players is used as the Team score on each hole
  2. Fourball / Total - All players of the team play their own ball, the combined total score of the Team Players is used as the Team score on each hole
  3. Foursomes (Alt Shot) - Teams play one ball per hole with the players taking turns on who is hitting (Alternate Shot)
  4. Foursomes (Scramble) - Teams play one ball per hole with all players hitting each shot and then selecting the best for all players to hit their next (Scramble)
  5. Singles - All players play their own ball

Match Teams

The Squad Team Pairing for each match can be different for each round. Example, a player on the Red Team can play with one Red Team Member on Day 1 and then with a different Red Team Member on Day 2 for their match against the Blue Team.

Golf Course(s) & Player / Team Handicaps

The Rounds can be played on different Golf Courses and the Players / Team Handicaps can be different for each round.

Example, for the (Fourball / 1x Best Ball) round you may want to take 80% of the player's handicap and for the Singles you may want 100%.
