Setting Up a Travel Trip

Not sure how to configure your Travel Trip, or would like the assurance that all is configured correctly? Send an email to Support@UnknownGolf.com with full details of the event and we will review or complete the setup for you.

Settting up your Travel Trip will start with the following steps:

  1. Create your personal community if you do not already have one, as a reminder all Multi-Round events will need to be created within a community.
  2. Add all of your players to your community roster.
  3. Create your Multi-Round Event.

If your event is a Ryder Cup Style scoring, here is a short video on how to set up (Setting Up a Ryder Cup Style Event), if not here is a general video on setting up a multi-round event (Setting Up A Multi-Round Event).

Best Practices

Here a few best practices when setting up your Trip:

  1. If you are creating your Community, it is best to provide a generic name like "Buck Boys Trips" instread of "Buck Boys 2026". When you create your events within the community you can add the year or location as part of name if desired.
  2. When adding players set their Handicap Id and Email address, this will help prevent duplicate profiles being created in Unknown Golf.
If you are traveling outside the United States, please read #3. If you want to provide yourself the flexability to change / update the course information then you may want to create custom courses for your event. You can reference (How to Create a Custom Golf Course) for a short video on how to create custom golf course
  1. The course information that Unknown Golf utilizes is from the USGA and is the same that you will find on the USGA GHIN App. It is possible that some Golf Courses have changed their Hole (Handicap / Stroke Allocations) and have not informed the USGA. We recommend that you inform your players that if the Hole / Stroke Allocations are different on the Paper Scorecard when you arrive at the course that you will use the Hole (Handicap / Stroke Allocations) in Unknown Golf as the source of truth for the event.
