What are side games?

Side Games are optional contests that players can create within an event. The setup, format, and payouts for a side game are the sole responsibility of the players participating in it—not the event organizer.

For example, you may be playing in your Club Championship and choose to create a few side games with friends or other participants in the event.

An Unknown+ Membership is required to create a side game, but not to participate in one.

Leaderboard vs. Side Game

The key difference between a leaderboard and a side game is responsibility and scope. A Leaderboard is the main competition for the event, involving the majority of the players, and is created and managed by the event organizer—including handling payouts.

Side Game, however, involves only a subset of players and is completely managed by those players. Side Games often support formats designed for a single tee group, while leaderboards are designed for larger events that may span one or multiple rounds.
