Horserace/Parimutuel

In Unknown Golf, you can run horse races (parimutuels).

To enable the parimutuel, click into your leaderboard settings and select the leaderboard you wish to run the parimutuel for.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and change the horse race (parimutuel) option from "no" to "yes". You can also set the house take % or house take fixed amount if applicable.

You can click on the now visible parimutuel section from your advanced event home page.

Now you can start creating your tickets. Use the "ticket holder" search box to select the person placing a ticket. IMPORTANT NOTE: only users who are in your community player list can create a ticket. Select the ticket type, the player the ticket is being placed on, result, and amount. Once the information is completed, select Create Ticket.

After all tickets are created, and the event results have been finalized, you can select the "summary and payouts" button in the parimutuel section to view a breakdown of ticket holders who won and lost, and how much.

Important reminders and key terms for parimutuels

  • Events using parimutuels MUST be flighted. If you do not plan on breaking players/teams into multiple flights, you can simply place all players/teams into one flight.
  • If a player who had a ticket placed on them moves flights, that ticket becomes void.
  • The leaderboard that the parimutuel is running through must have at least three payout places created.
  • The three payout places MUST break ties.
  • Event/round results must be finalized before parimutuel payouts will show.
  • All users who create a ticket will receive an emailed receipt of their ticket(s), assuming they have an email attached to their account.
  • Parimutuel terms:
    • Win: pays if player places first in their flight
    • Place: pays if player places first or second in their flight
    • Show: pays if player places first, second or third in their flight
    • Across the board: creates a win, place and show ticket for a player
    • Field: Places a ticket (win place or show depending on what you picked) for every player in the field (flight) of the designated player.
